Since the company was founded in 1976, collaboration with scientists and researchers has been a firm fixture at MAM. This network of experts has enabled issues to be highlighted and integrated into MAM's work.
The phenomenon of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is one of the key concerns to address here. MAM has long been supporting relevant studies and research projects – not just since the ground-breaking meta-study by Fern Hauck which demonstrated how the risk can be reduced considerably by using suitable pacifiers.

MAM has also initiated campaigns in several countries to raise people's awareness of the risk of SIDS and how to prevent it. These campaigns were implemented in partnership with partners on health policy, medical institutions and parent advice groups.

MAM campaigns with great public appeal such as the "Safe Sleeping Guidelines" and relevant specialist events on how to prevent SIDS have so far been run in the USA, in the United Kingdom, Austria, Italy, Israel, South Africa and Australia.

But the MAM Initiative on SIDS will not be over until all mothers and fathers know how they can put their children to bed relaxed and be calmed.
